In June 2008 we launched the St John at Hackney Project. This was the name of a new 5 year Mission Action Plan, which aimed to develop our mission and ministry at St John at Hackney.
Essentially, the project is made up of three major strands:
Telling the story of Hackney– speaking directly into the quest for identity for people, and in the preserving of our Heritage for years to come.
Refurbishing our iconic building, to provide new facilities for all Private, Public and Third Sector organisations to thrive, as well as support local community initiatives.
To develop our own Church projects, focussing upon: Older people, young people and health.
The implementation of these strands is being monitored by the following working parties, which meet monthly.
Operation and Finance
People and Prayer
Development
Children and Young people.
This update is an opportunity to demonstrate what has been achieved in the first year of the Project, and will end with the set of priorities which have been set for this year.
Enjoy!
